My Little Angel ...

She's so cute as an angel even though her wings are too big! I thought for sure she would potty all over the place while I was taking her pictures, but she didn't. Yay. Not quite what I was going for but she was tired and the wings are still too big. I'm going to need to do something to the arm straps or something so that they fit better. Here is the first try at her angel shots. Overall, I'm happy with them but know they could be much better.

I finally found something funny today ...

... I've been having a really shitty day for some reason and I was in serach of something on the internet when I came across an old picture of Brad Pitt from when he was promoting, I believe, Fight Club. I know it's from around that time ... Anyway, it cracks me up. This picture just seems so natural for him and for the life of me I can't figure out why other than he is likely a fruit loop that makes you laugh all the time. Anyway, here's the picture that had me about ready to wet my pants after a GAWD AWFUL day.

Now I'm going to go get my monkey and hopefully have a much better evening. At least I finally cracked a smile!!!

I Know, I Know

Yeah, I just posted something after not posting for most of the week but I have to let everyone know that whoever it was that told that skank nasty Paris Hilton that she could sing, should be shot! And then to actually have someone give her a record deal? I'm hoping she had to fork out her own money for that one but we all know that there is someone stupid enough to front the money for it because let's face it, she's Paris, and people are going to buy the hideous thing just because she's Paris. I listen to XM20 on AOL while I'm on the computer and while most of the music they play doesn't offend my senses too dramatically, Paris Hilton just drives me to the brink of throwing my computer out the window! Give me a break, the bitch is famous basically because she's a rich slut who can't keep her big trap (neither of them) shut!

I just had to get that off of my chest before I actually did pick up the computer and dump it out of the nearest window. I feel better now ... at least until the next time that nasty creatures voice assaults my poor, sensitive ears.

Busy week

I haven't had much time to post any updates this week. Football season has started here and Cody has had conditioning camp all week, with full contact practice starting next week. Full contact practice means time for a physical for Cody, and the possibility of shots. I had to pick him up from practice last night since it was bowling night for Pete and PJ and informed him of the possibility of a shot or two. New school regulations in the county are requiring the Hepatitis series of vaccinations and I'm not sure if he has had them. Needless to say, at the mere mention of it, the waterworks were on display. I told him to suck it up because Sage has to get shots every two months, three at a time, and you don't see her crying before we go to the doctor. Of course, she doesn't understand where we are going or what is going to happen, but it doesn't seem that an 11 year old mind quite grasps that concept yet ... so, he stopped complaining. Score one point for me!

Sage officially sat up, without me sitting behind her lending my "mommy is here" support, on Tuesday night. After changing her she managed to grab the always fascinating wipes container and started playing with it before I could manage to get the thing out of her reach. Lately, taking something from her when she wants to play with it leads to the most insane little fits to come out of a little person. She pokes that ever-pouting lower lip out into a full-on pout, furrows her brows and lets out a piercing little scream that would make you think someone had just poked her with one of those aforementioned needles! Rather than confront that head on Tuesday evening when I still needed to make dinner, I let her keep the danged wipes container ... and sat her up with it to see what she would do. Well, she straightened up her little back, looked at me with a wide two-toothed grin, and then proceeded with a little impromptu drumming jam session. I'm thinking I'll be looking for, and not easily finding, a little baby sized set of bongos! Better yet, a little tiny person djembe would be great. I'll need to find the African import site that had the djembe I wanted and see if they have tiny ones. Doubt it, but it's worth a shot. Maybe I'll even break out my bodhran for her, sans the mallet ... don't need her smacking herself in the head with it, nor do I want baby drool on my mallet, because as everyone knows, if you place something in a 7 month old baby's hand, they are going to put it in their mouth!

She went to visit with MawMaw and PopPop on Wednesday evening while I was grocery shopping. When I went to my parents to pick her up, she had been sitting on a blanket playing with her toys for about 5 minutes. She heard me walk in the door and started craning her little neck trying to see me come up the stairs and around the corner. I'm guessing it was the excitement of my coming to get her, or maybe just fatigue ... but she fell over. I'm going with the excitement of seeing mommy! I've also got some pictures that I need to download from the camera and upload to the site of her sitting. And you know what that means ... now that she is sitting, I'm getting some angel-wing pictures this weekend!!! Yay me! I'll be channeling Anne Geddes in her early years. HA!

Besides the sitting, she seems pretty damn determined that she is going to be crawling. Right now, she gets up on her hands and knees and kind of rocks back and forth OR she just lunges herself forward. She is managing to become more and more mobile by the day and while that fills me with excitement it is also scaring the bejeebies out of me! I'm a paranoid fruitcake half the time with her anyway ... I can't imagine the new phobias I will come up with once she is mobile. Gods, save me from my silly phobias.

Mann's 1st Birthday

Sage and I went to my friend Stacy's for her sons first birthday party on Saturday. Mann is adorable ... his real name is Henry, but since Stacy isn't too fond of that, she started out with "My Little Man" and it ended up being "Mann." She lives a little over an hour away and I wasn't too sure how Sage would do on the drive up without someone in the back seat to keep her company, but she did really good. She played with her toys and took a short little nap. Stacy is 5 months pregnant with her second child, another boy. She's one of those women that look really cute pregnant ... the kind I wanted to smack the shit out of when I was pregnant! LOL. Mann is so adorable ... really quiet and curious. Here are a couple of pictures of Sage from Friday evening and some pictures from Stacy's on Saturday. Also pictured is Shawna's (Stacy's cousin) 18 month old daughter, Meagan. She's so adorable.

In the Beginning

Okay, I posted older pictures yesterday and seemed to have whetted an appetite, so I am now posting the pictures from day one ... and I want no comments on the conehead. Poor thing tried to get out. I pushed so long and so hard that when they finally did take her, she was stuck in the birth canal and they had to pull pretty hard to get her out! She was so perfect from the second she was born ...

Seven months old

My little monkey is 7 months old today!!! I was looking at a couple of pictures on my mantle last night and realized that Colleen may not have seen them yet, so I thought I would post them. They also remind me of how small she was.

Trying to Grow Up Too Quick

Sage has decided she is hell bent on trying to push herself up and sit and she is trying her hardest to get her knees up under herself to crawl. She's going to be all over the place before I know it! At least I'll be able to get pictures of her doing other things finally. As soon as she's sitting, you can bet her little angel wings will be on and I'll finally have my pictures I want. I've been holding onto the things for about 3 1/2 months now and I'm getting just a tad impatient waiting to put them on her. Of course, she'll probably fight me tooth and nail considering that everytime she gets her clothes off, she is quite happy about it and fights me when I put them back on. I guess it's payback for laughing at my sister all of those years ago when Kayla refused to be clothed.

She'll be 7 months old on Tuesday ... so hard to believe. And her hair is changing so much, the little bit that she has. Such a full head of almost black hair when she was born. Then she was almost bald and it grew back in pretty dark. It gets lighter, it seems, each day and I swear I saw a few little blonde strands in it yesterday when the sunlight hit it. I may end up with my little toe-head afterall. Won't that just put her father into a snit! It absolutely drives him nuts that she looks so much like me when his other children look like him. His saving grace was that she had dark hair like him. Guess not ...

She's pictured here with her Uncle Herb and some more shots with dresses from MawMaw. She's getting so big!

Trying to crawl and sit

Sage has started to try to get her knees under her and rocks back and forth then throws herself forward to reach things now. She should have that crawling thing down within a couple of weeks at the rate she is going but I am in no hurry! She sat up quite perfectly yesterday morning without any support. I was sitting behind her on the floor and when I got up to get the camera she very slowly fell to the side and wasn't having anything to do with sitting back up, instead wanting to play with her feet, as usual!!! She's growing like a weed and still amazes me every day. I'm guessing that is a life long journey since her entire existence is astonishing to me.

She's still not sleeping well at night and wakes up often. I am constantly getting in and out of bed to calm her and end up putting her in bed with me to get her back to sleep. Then I'm afraid to move her too soon or I'll wake her and I can't fall asleep with her in my bed because I'm afraid she'll roll out since she moves so much in her sleep. I'll wait about half an hour and finally move her, only to have her wake up as I'm finally drifting off to sleep again! I will be SO happy when she is back to sleeping through the night as she did for four months!

The pictures are from the last few days. Her dresses are from MawMaw and she looks SO adorable in them.
